Beautiful day in May, check. Low humidity in Washington D.C.? Check? Really? Beautiful Bride-check, Handsome Groom-check. Hilarious Bridal party, fabulous families in all week from Kansas City, Outrageous and loving friends all brought together this Saturday in the heart of DC.

Weddings are often thought of, dreaded by some in fact, to be super serious, nerve wracking affairs. Happily, the opposite proves the case overwhelmingly. Sandy and Cooper truly stacked the odds in their favor, first with the worst kept secret in the world prior to the wedding about their filing status, then filling the pews of the Universalist National Memorial Church on 16th Street in Washington D.C. with their friends and loved ones. Keeping with the assertion of this photographer that the world, all the world, loves freshly married couples, the entire wedding guest list, and wedding party, assembled on the steps of the Scottish Rites Festival.
The chorus of “Congratulations”, “Well Done”, “Good Luck” could be heard through the symphony of horns from every car and motorcycle on the street. Eyes widen and smiles broaden for Sandy and Cooper as they glide past, feet barely touching, but eyes always locked and smiles huge and warm for all those around. Take in a walk up 13th to U street for the Reception at Tabaq, which I think may need to rethink the idea about having receptions there, and it feels as if the entire city applauds for the two of them.
To all those in attendance, please enjoy the pictures from a really fantastic wedding!
