Maureen and Marcus (who reminded me so much of an old high school friend, I kept referring to him as Jeff) had a sunny day wedding planned with a trolley in Annapolis, winding round the State House with the Family. Mother Nature apparently had a different set of blessings to bestow this particular morning. Marcus, who is in the Air Force stationed currently at Dover, had conferred with Maureen, that the heat would break on the day of their wedding, result-lots of rain.
Never fear, the Italians believe that rain on the wedding day is good luck, along with a bird in the house, being pooped on by a flying bird, and a lot of other things traditionally associated with malady and apparently feces, the Italians are, if you haven’t figured it out, definitely in the glass half full school of thought. This particular day was actually what I had always hoped for, a rainy day where the streets are reflective and I’ve got a usher, a really tall one as it turns out, holding an umbrella while I get the great shots of the couple strolling through the streets.
Annapolis is a fantastic little location, from their wedding site at the Governor Calvert Inn, to the simple backdrop of all things nautical. I’m not sure about you, but to me, nautical always means in some way, wet. So here I have my chance, with the fantastically sunny dispositions of both Maureen and Marcus, we moved out filled the camera with lovely shots, that should not need pointing out, are filled with the grande ohos, of Maureen’s fantastic blue eyes. Displayed in all their glory that day. Lots of laughter, great families, and of course, the tear filled toasts, although the best man Kafui really brought the house down, albeit unintentionally on his first toast at his first wedding ever.
Enjoy the day again with me.
